Korrith of the Silvanesti elves was a cleric of Majere who traveled
around healing and where it was needed staying a few days to preach
One day on his way to Solace he came across a young human woman who
had taken a black bolt through, her right shoulder.

After removing the bolt and praying to Majere to heal her, she
introduced herself as Ellyana, he could tell that she was a ranger
from her clothing and gear. During his time in Solace he would visit
with her whenever he could but he never asked about what happened in
the woods the day they met. They fell in love, got married, and had
one son that they named Aric after Ellyanas father.

Aric learned how to become a ranger from his mom and respect for the
gods from his dad. When Aric was eight winters old he overheard his
mom talking to his dad.

"I have kept this a secret for too long now and I think you deserve to
know the truth my father was a Solamnic Knight who was assassinated by
a knight of Takhisis. I fled and joined the Wildrunners where I
learned about the forest and what it means to be a ranger. My
commanding officer ordered my squad to reinforce one of the keeps in
the area but we were ambushed on the way there.

I was shot while escaping and crawled into some brush before blacking
out, when I awoke you were healing me.

I don't know if the two incidents are related or if it was just ill
luck but I felt you should know."

Aric neither saw nor heard anything after that and went down to the
forest floor to think.

When he turned of age his father gave him a sword.

Korrith pointed at the dark brown hilt "this represents the earth" his
finger moved to the twin green vines intertwined together making up
the handle "growth" then the golden sun on the pommel "light."

"My father gave this to me before I joined the holy order.

He told me that what it means is we are all born of the earth and as
we grow no matter how a life may twist or turn the ever present light
is there to guide and watch over you."
