Author: Barramus Date: Thu Aug 26 03:14:15 2010 Subject Frozen Dinner pt.1 The harsh chill wind bit at his thick hide. Tonight was cold, even for his standards. The night sky blotted out by thousands of ice pellets continuously streaking across the barren land. A faint noise drew my attention, a huff of an animal breathing slowly; followed by a soft crunch of ice. Being careful not to reveal myself I lay ever so still waiting for my prey. A dark figure appeared not 10 strides from me; massive fur covered animal. I had been waiting crouched here for hours covered in a blanket of ice and snow; the chase would be over soon. I lay still anticipating what was next the animal drew closer, then closer and finally close enough that that I could see my reflection in its oblivious eyes. Ice Bears; Dangerous prey, but lots of meat and their pelts made splendid huts. Not waiting a moment longer I released my energy into one large burst tackling the beast from its side,, driving it hard onto the frozen ground on its backside. The creature roared in pain and confusion, I slammed my large fat fists into its massive furry filled face, splattering blood and teeth everywhere. . Its claws raked across my thick hide drawing blood, Quickly wiggling side to side the bear was about to gain an advantage on me. Quickly I thrust my large pointed tusks deep into the creature's body. The Ice bear roared in furry and threw me off it in a sudden bought of strength. I lay there stunned waiting for the bear to jump me Nothing. Quickly struggling to my knees I looked around, the bear was gone. Noticing a faint blood trail I smiled, a punctured lung won't carry any creature far. Gaining my senses I quickly followed the blood trail through the blizzard. Dinner would be soon, Granted some other creature doesn't get it first.
