of Nidus through dubious circumstances. Even still she was so proud to be
his mistressa and loved him fiercely. She stroked her belly thinking that
even though she would never be able to bear him anything but a bastard she
still hoped that a son was in her womb. With a son she would never have be a
servant again because a male bastard would at least free her from these
trivial duties and be set for life. Several weeks later all Ralenia could
think of was pain. Several of the midwives look worried, she had been in
labor for several hours and the baby was in the wrong position and might die
taking her along with it. She was losing blood and would be dead within a
few minutes of something was not done. Lord Verminaard entered the room with
great protest from the women and he gave them a cold stare. Coming to
Ralenia side he looked into her eyes and he could tell the life was fleeing
from her. He began talking to someone who was not there, little did Ralenia

something seemed off, the child was white as a ghost and barely breathing

that was magic but it was clerical magic, how is that possible there are no
gods anymore?" Verminaard stated coldly "She has always been with us, and I

shall never know this child he is special, he has died and been brought back
to life, his soul has been torn and exists in the Abyss and here. He shall
be a powerful tool for me.

After receiving reports of Teague acting strangely I contacted some of my mercenary friends and put a bounty out for his capture and interrogation. This wasnt the first time I have had to eliminate my enemies but some of the reports from the other mages was concerning. Also with the conclave of mages rapidly approaching and reports of missing mages as well his behavior seemed rather suspicious. After making the arrangements through his normal contacts I was contacted by Shronius that he has completed his mission and was awaiting my arrival. Falkore stepped out of the shadows and greeted Shronius. Greetings Shronius, pleasure doing business with your. Now leave us be for a few minutes then collect him and hold onto him for some time. I dont want him doing anything rash for the next week or so. Also payment will be delivered shortly, Falkore hissed. I will have further work for you and any other mercenary that wants to work, any dragon army member is now considered to have a bounty on their heads and I pay well for your services. Dont kill them, yet at least I want information on what they are up to. As Shronius leaves I inspect Teagues clothing and it appears the reason for his absences and reports were not as accurate as I was lead to believe. The poor man was playing at highlord of the red army. Thinking how this could be used to my advantage it would make a nice distraction from his own endeavours that I knew at once what my course of action would be. Ripping off Teagues hood I stare at him with my cold black eyes looking for the fear within them. Teague begins to speak and I slap him across the face to quite him. Listen to me and listen good, I dont care that you are playing at highlord. What I care about is the dead mages that have been turning up and I think your people are responsible for them. You will be at the conclave of the mages coming up and you will report your crimes or I will brand you a traitor and a renegade for your actions. Also know this, no matter where you go, no matter how many men you have or wherever you hide I can find you and get to you. I can carve your heart out right now take a bite out of it in front of you and watch you die but I am not going to do that. You will get your chance to defend yourself. For right now you are going to rot for awhile in a cell where no one will find you until the conclave is close to beginning. I dont want you getting any bright ideas on trying to make a play for my position and frankly I dont want another Ciskei incident. You will be judged before the moons my friend and if they find you guilty I will make the short rest of your life a miserable one. Before Teague can respond I cast a sleep spell upon him and call for Shronius to collect his prisoner. Make sure he doesnt leave for awhile, a week should be sufficient for my needs. Also no permanent harm but if loses the ability to use his hands for awhile there will be another fifty diamonds in it for you. Just dont break to many of them. Shronius nods at Falkore and begins dragging his prize away to whatever hole he was going to stash him in. Feeling quite pleased with himself about how things were turning out I made my way to collect the next book I was seeking. Soon I shall have all I need to complete my plan and with no one to stop me.
