"I am old.." says, Roleldar Nighthawk, speaking to himself. He rests his head against a cold damp stone wall, feeling every bit of one thousand years old. He awaits his prey, a Dragonarmy deserter in a tavern around the corner. "Seemingly, this hunt, will never end. How much can this pig drink?" he contemplates. As the night continues to carry on, Roleldar begins to let his mind wander off, recalling the times before the Cataclysm. The crack of a whip sounds on a cool spring morning, "SLAVE!" yells a Silvanesti Elf. "You have failed me once again!". A scream bellows out of a stocky wild looking tattooed elf as the whip tears across his back. "Are you watching this whelp?! Your worthless father couldn't outrun a blind one-legged Daergar!" says the Silvanesti elf as he reels back to whip Roleldar's father Blackbird. The Silvanesti elf was a fur merchant and the master of many Kagonesti elves who he used to hunt. He had sent Blackbird out to scout ahead for Fox and he must have failed! He was now forced to suffer watching his father's torture at the hands of another elf. "Why would they betray their own cousins?!" Roleldar thought to himself as he stared through swollen eyes. "We are your equal! We're elven just as you are!" cried out Roleldar to the Master. The elf spun on him with a murderous look in his eye. "EQUAL?!" screamed the enraged Silvanesti. "You are the worm beneath my foot!". The Silvanesti drew his blade and rushed Roleldar stabbing towards him. Roleldar moved quickly, dodging the blade, but he fell to the ground. The Silvanesti turned to attack Roleldar again. In terror, Roleldar grabbed at the earth feeling a large stone beneath his hand. Clutching the stone, he swung his hand as the Silvanesti lunged toward him with the dagger A thud sounded as the Merchant landed on Roleldar, knocking the wind out of him as the Silvanest landed on top of him. Roleldar had hit the elf in the side of the head knocking him out cold. Roleldar pushed the Silvanesti off him and scrambled to grab the knife before the elf could awake. He felt the cold elven forged steel in his hand and turned, seeing his bloody and broken father hanging from a whipping post. Rage filled his heart and Roleldar descended upon the unconscious Silvanesti. He stabbed and stabbed until the blood of the Silvanesti covered him from head to toe as he screamed to the Gods forsaking Habbakuk and Chislev. "WHY DO YOU LET US SUFFER?!" he cried to the sky. He pulled the dagger from the bloody and maimed elven corpse. Wielding the knife, he turned to free Blackbird, his fathers face, terrified, pale, but also...disgusted? Roleldar cut Blackbird off the whipping post. "Father! We must run!" exclaimed Roleldar. Weak and covered in his own blood, skin torn, Blackbird hissed, "No Roleldar, how could you!? All life is sacred! You have killed us all! You must leave us, NOW!". Roleldar's head was now racing as fast as his heart! Did his father forsake him for killing the elf that enslaved him?! "I don't understand father!" cried Roleldar. Regaining his strength Blackbird angrily lunged at Roleldar, "GO NOW BOY! WE ARE ALL DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU! YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE!". "But father!" Roleldar said dodging Blackbird. Blackbird off balance fell into the dirt and rolled over, holding in tears glaring "YOU ARE EXILED ROLELDAR! You will never find redemption with your clan, even if we see freedom. You are no longer one of us." Roleldar's ear twitches, hearing the inn door open and the commotion spill out, he snaps back to the present moment. Angered and saddened, he mumbles to himself "I'd much rather be hunting an elf."

"Kill a Qualinesti Elder?" says Roleldar in somewhat shocked whisper. He keeps a straight face, but he is elated as he reads a parchment with orders from the Black Dragonarmy. Normally he is relegated to hunting down deserters and the occasional assassination to keep the city rabble in line. But this, this is going to be fun, possibly even exciting. Roleldar thinks to himself while sitting in The Broken Barrel, "Poison arrow? Beheading? Buried Alive?" The choice's swirled through his head. So many ways to kill someone, but this was an Elder, this needed to be slow and painful. This needed to be colorful. Roleldar wondered what this Elder did or did not do to anger the Dark Queen. But honestly, he did not care, Takhisis provided him with the opportunity to exact revenge on another elf. Whatever the reason, it was a blessing, he would make sure that Takhisis will was done. One day, maybe he would have a chance to thank her for fulfilling his lust for revenge. As long and as hot as his rage burned, he would forever be grateful to The Dark Queen.

Standing on a ledge at the peak of the Vingaard Mountains looking east, the flames so bright in the darkness they lit the Garnet mountainside in the distance. The seemingly enternal battle that is Thelgaard Keep. Roleldar received orders to hunt and assassinate the Lady of the Keep. It would put a dagger in the heart of the Dargeth, a Lord Knight of the Rose. If he were broken, then assuredly the morale of his troops would be as well. Roleldar had endured grueling training in preparation for this day. To strike a serious blow to the self-righteous Knights of Solamnia. These polished hypocrites constantly spouting "Est Sularus Oth Mithas" or "My Honor is my Life". What honor did these fools have? They rule with an iron fist crushing all who they choose to deem evil. Ideologically obsessed zealots. All the Solamnics wanted was power. At least the self-proclaimed "Knights" could do is admit it. What are they protecting Krynn from? Roleldar knew the answer, they are protecting a facade of freedom while they allow humans to spit on any race they see as lesser, including each other. Roleldar grew enraged at the thought. "I will never be a slave again." He thought. "No creature of flesh and blood will rule over me." He scowled as he looked back over his shoulder. There stood a Sivak Draconian, Do'gan, who he had enlisted to accompany him on missions. An intimidating specimen, but Do'gan possessed a most impressive ability unique to the Sivak. The ability to polymorph into its victims for a time. Roleldar's face brightened as he looked at the natural assassin. Clapping his hand on the shoulder of the Sivak, he smiled a crooked and sinister smile. "My friend, we'll not only eliminate the Lady of the Keep, you will take her form! And when you do, you will walk right through the soldiers the coward Dargeth surrounds himself with and sink a dagger into his throat." If this succeeded, this wouldn't only change the battle, this would strike fear to the core of the Solamnic Order. A deed this grand would surely be mentioned in the prayers to Takhisis herself! Roleldar gazed longingly into the glow of the distant inferno quite pleased with himself. "This will work." He said, before he began to chant a spell. First the Sivak became translucent, then invisible altogether. Just moments later, Roleldar disappeared into thin air and a quiet but dreadful laugh echoed from the ledge getting more distant into the night as the pair began their journey east and into the chilled nightfall.
