Astinus gently places a thread-bare book bound in cloth on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Tecla' scribed in glowing grey ink.

Being born in a gnomish family, Tecla grew up happy, as all gnomes do,
learning technical issues about engineering stuff during his childhood, he
was gifted with the natural talent of making all sorts of inventions and
every now and then this creative gift resulted amusing. However he was still
looking for that invention he was designed to create to make sense of his
life. 

One day, a foreigner visited Nevermind Mount...

Tecla thought;

"Thismightbeasignalofmylifecreation"

So he" invited" him to stay at home during three months...Fear and apprehension could be seen in this funny visitor and these feelings grew when Tecla decided he could be a very important part in his new creation;

"The fabulousandmostgorgeoussubtlebodyharieliminatorwithmultipositionalbladesoftremendoussharpnessandcuttingprecision"

Which according to Tecla it was going to be the super invention of the year that might win the award of the academy of inventors and that surely will be sold successfully in all Palanthas...

With this invention, a new generation gap was about to explode among all inventors!!

Never did Tecla know that his words were going to be quite accurate...
At the first attempt to test this device on his special "volunteer", all the machinery exploded leaving the human with third grade burns and without hair in some parts of his body... 

As a matter of fact, the machine did work, although the idea was not to get it destroyed which at the end of the day Tecla did not care a lot...

Tecla said;

"SurelyanewonewouldcomesoonIalreadyhaveavolunteerthatIamsurewillcooperatelongenoughtomakesomeprevioustestsbeforeitgoestotheworldmarket"

The volunteer's eyes almost popped out and went out fleeing that place.

Tecla thought;

"IamsurehehassomethingveryimportanttodoButnotlessimportantthancooperatingwithmyinventionOrmaybehewantsmetotestitinhishometown!!!...whatagreatidea!!...IwillgetmytoolsandluggagereadytomakeatriptoPalanthas!!

So Tecla took a small case with some clothes and a huge case with lots of tiny tools and certainly...lots of hopes and dreams about what was going to be the great trip of his life.
