The Great Library of Palanthas

An Aesthetic shows you to the private room of Ace.

The simple Home of Ace

As you walk into the small, one bedroom home, you are greeted with a warm feeling and a smell of cinnamon coming from an herb cabinet across the room from you. It is very tidy, full of gold and silver DragonLeather, apparent in the sheets, carpet, clothes and atop a small tabel in the corner of the room. On further inspection, a book bound with Black Silk lies open on it.

The fire flickers as you take out the chair to sit. Unlike the warm Dragonleather that runs throughout this house, the book is as Cold and withering as the tales inside. But that is not to say that there is not light inside. The light of courage and hope are still very well alive in this archive of conflict. They grow stronger with each passing page and tale, but not without confrontation.

Stories of Ansalon from the view of Ace.

A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap is at 65. You change? Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Eyes hurt? Turn Color OFF!! (regular story dates)

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a large book on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Ace' scribed in earth-colored orange ink.

Subject A question of Faith

An Experienced Cleric in the Hall said that Light can only exist
in the
dark, and shows most brightly as the darkness becomes more
absolute. I am
now considering if perhaps the opposite is true? If A soul is
pure, like
that of the Prophets, Darkness is not a factor, and therefore
the ammount of
Light will not affect the darkness in One.... Don't be
confused, Its
simple...

(The page of the Journal skips a few lines as a Formula is etched
in)

i = l The amount of light in a pure individual becomes
that individuals
alignment, which is a permanent.

I = dx + lx In the case of a tainted or neutral
being, the equation is this.
The darkness grows as the light does, and vice versa. This makes
it
Impossible to ever rid yourself of evil without atoning for
the equal amount
of good. And even then, the only choice is neutrality.

I think realisticaly the only explanation is that power on either
side of
good or evil drives one to either corrupion or wisdom, a scale
which only
the pure can bypass. Because of their Iron will and Loyalty,
these beings
are somehow safe.

Dark days are ahead, the air full of suspense as strange winds
are blowing.
I am constantly being reminded. I am constantly being assaulted
by thoughts
and memories that are not my own. I do and always will have a
voice that
pounds inside my mind waiting for a chance to be unleashed
telling me every
second of every day that i am the Enemy.

Subject All but Forgotten...

In the shadows of Ansalon, some time ago, there lived a man. Half
righteous
warrior, half blood thirsty demon. He fought many years against
this demon, and
its vicious and mindless urges, only to succumb to its promise of
power.

After leading the holy order of Balance as Starmaster for some
time, he
dissapeared, nearly vanishing from the face of the world.

But this was not a true retreat from the world. No, it was a
personal test, a
test of his will and character. His possessor, Kesmik, would have
to be
supressed once more.

A cold sleepily glowing blue eye shot through a thin facemask as
only a point of
light, the other of the figures eyes apparently swollen shut.

These eyes shifted up tiredly and slowly with his body, resting
against the
trunk of a dead tree staring up to the dark clouds which blocked
out the view of
the heavens he yearned to see.

Regardless of the conditions, he had to head on and as so
stumbled to stand onto
aching feet. He regained his composure slightly, deeply exhaling
into the cold
night.

His clearly visible breath was a bitter reminder of the freezing
temperature.
The sleet in the surrounding mountains and forests was falling
thick, and was so
cold it burned to the touch.

The mountains had likely not seen the sun for days, and that
meant Ace hadn't
seen food for days. "Why is that I always end up in the most god
forsaken of
places?" The thought lingered loosely in his mind, as he pressed
on towards
Palanthas.

His home.

(Hello Ansalon! It is great to be back, and if you see me
around don't
hesitate to say hi. Or whatever it is you kids do these days. See
ya. ^^)
