The Great Library of Palanthas

An Aesthetic shows you to a small reading room.

Stories of Ansalon from the view of Arauko.

A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap is at 80. You change? Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Eyes hurt? Turn Color OFF!! (regular story dates)

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places an elegant book bound in elf-skin on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Arauko' scribed in dull red ink.

Author: Arauko

Subject The Queen's Command part I: Knight of the White
Lily.

Having left the Wyvern south of the town of Crossing, the Half-Demon let
his senses span the region, guiding him to his quarry.

The Half-Demon felt the presence of the one he was sent to retrieve in
that hill, which was probably a good thing, since that way there would
be no curious townsfolk around to interrupt him.

Her eyes were wide with unspoken joy, the little girl must have been
6... barely that, in those eyes the Half-Demon saw something that he had
not seen for over a millennia. The kind of look his sister often had
when they were alone together, talking.

His step faltered a little as this recollection crossed his mind. No
bloodlust or thirst for the infliction of pain inhabited his soul now.
He walked over the flowers and sat next to the girl.

None of the two talked for the longest of time, as if each was unaware
of the other's presence.

After a while, the little girl stopped picking up the white lilies and
turned to the Half-Demon: "She didn't blame you. Not even in the end.
She understood."

The Half-Demon's eyes widened in shock as he regarded the little girl.

"I know why you came for me, and in who'se name you came. When do we
leave?"

Unable to speak a word, the Half-Demon stretched out a hand, and the
little girl took it, holding the white lilies on her other hand. She had
known her fate all along, and she would not counter it.

The trip back to Storm's Keep was quick, and so was the girl's fate at
the hands of the Lady of Night.

Later that, should anyone have bothered or dared, they would have found
the Half-Demon standing on a balcony, in his hands the white lilies the
girl had brought with her. Bloody White Lilies.
