Astinus gently places a large book on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Arcisul' scribed in light white ink.

Author: Arcisul
Date: Tue Oct 23 02:11:05 2007
Subject Ardor of Power

The young Orughi climbed out of the ship as it ran ashore upon the
mainland, clutching rigging lines they began heaving the boat further
up onto the sandy beach. Their muscular arms swelling under their task
and dripping sweat from the hot sun weighing heavily overhead,
threatening to dip below the horizon as it blazed its last hour or two
of light with its intense summer heat. Arcisul stood upon the deck, a
few more Orughi standing in his company, he scanned the beach for any
signs of civilization nearby. To his satisfaction there was none, not
a footprint in the sand and no rolling campfire smoke in the distance.
He would have the Orughi set up a camp and prepare for travel in the
morning, the outlook for his journey so far was looking prosperous.

Having been cast out by those of his kind for his avaricious practices
to the Lord of Death, he chose to seek out the cursed left-overs of
his race. The Nzunta believed that his over zealousness would be the
downfall of what was left of them, the ogres would not see it as such,
rather they will embrace his fervor and give him power among their
nations. At least that is what he foresaw in his journeys ahead,
praying to his Lord he felt the ship cease its movement.

One of the Orughi unfurled a rope ladder over the edge of the boat for
him and he descended from the ship, stepping for the first time upon
the continent of Ansalon. The sand sunk deeply under the weight of his
feet, he scanned to beach front once more scanning for an appropriate
place to stay for the night. He turned to his servants, some of them
looking on with lifeless eyes still continuing their servitude in
undeath but still maintaining their viligant service. Pieces of flesh
desperately clinging to their thick bones for fear of being left
behind to rot on the beach, or worse be chewed up and swallowed by
some creature. The other servants that still lived waited earnestly
for their orders from their master as he stood in silent contemplation
of his plans. The loyalty unbroken even in their masters exile, though
they are less intelligent than most rocks found in a cobblestone road,
they followed their masters with unquestioned dedication. Having
spotted a suitable place further away from the beach Arcisul pointed
it out and the Orughi quickly departed with supplies to set up while a
few others began breaking the ship down to use for the fire.
