Subject A brothers regret.

Born in tarsis Bazan grew up
surrounded by happiness, His mother Amania
was a local healer and his father
Gilf was the former captain of the city
guard.

His youth was spent helping his
mother tend to the sick that needed aid, and
training with his father and older
brother the current second in command of
the city guard. One day during training
with his brother they are interupted
by a member of the guard with a message for
his brother. "Lieutenant Artor,
Captain Blackmoor has told me to inform you one
of the scorpions is wanted
for murder and you are to bring him in dead or
alive."

Bazan asks if he can go with Artor only to have his brother refuse.
After
his brother leaves Bazan decides to follow him into the old city
anyway.
While looking for his brother he is attacked from behind by the man
his
brother is hunting. The scorpion slashes his eye with a dagger
laughing
madly as Bazan lays on the ground screaming in pain he hears Artor
scream
his name. Artor grabs the dagger from his boot and throws it at the
scorpion
but he dives to the ground to dodge it.

Using this chance to close
the distance he stands over his brother and draws
his sword. The scorpion jumps
to his feet and draws a short sword and black
dirk then begins to circle the
brothers. Lunging at Artor he swings the
sword in a wide arc over his head which
Artor blocks easily not noticing
till its too late the dirk coming in from
below, getting a small slice on
his leg Artor grunts and grabs the scorpions arm
with his free hand holding
him in place he stabs him in the gut with his
sword.

The scorpion smiles at Artor and says "I still win." then falls to
the
street dead. Turning back to his brother he sees him lying unconscious
on
the street he picks him up and heads for home to have their mother take
care
of Bazan. Upon arriving he kick the door open and yells for his mother
she
comes walking out of the back room carrying a bowl of herbs seeing Bazan
she
drops them and runs over to him. Artor places him on the kitchen table
and
Amania begins to examine him.

Artor and his Gilf pace around the table as
Amania treats Bazan a few hours
of treatment later Bazan wakes and shakily sits
up and Amania says "Bazan
you will live but will never again have the use of
that eye." Artor sighs
and thanks the gods his brother is alright as he begins
to walk over to his
brother he collapses. His mother and father run over to him
as Bazan slides
off the table and crawls over to Artor his mother notices the
cut on Artors
leg and a fine white powder at the edges of the wound. She smells
the powder
and screams "NO!" Gilf asks whats wrong Amania says the weapon that
did this
was coated with a powerful poison. A week later Artor is dead and
buried in
the family crypt, Gilf walks into the crypt and sees a note laying on
the
floor infront of Artors tomb picking it up he reads the note and begins
to
cry "I'm sorry brother Goodbye Bazan."
