A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap is at 80. You change? Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Eyes hurt? Turn Color OFF!! (regular story dates)

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a small book on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Blinkin' scribed in dull brown ink.

Author: Blinkin
Date: Sun Feb 10 17:28:32

Subject Twas Brillig and the Slithy Toves

"Twas Brillig and the Slithy Toves..." What was a Tove? Blinkin had never felt a Tove. Surely, he had felt many "toads" and any number of other Kender, Humans and elves. Once, he had even felt the tail of a gigantic rat that told him it was no rat and then threatened to eat him. What were Toves anyway? He would have to feel more things until he decided upon a tove. It was the only memory Blinkin had of his mother; part o a rhyme she used to sing when Blinkin was nor more than a Kinder-kender-kin. Both of his parents had died when he was still very young. They were unfortunate victims of an advancing army of humans and goblin conscripts, led by the fierce warrior known as Vermanard. Blinkin followed a flood of other refugees to the tree city of Solace, where he lived the life of a beggar. Kenders never had it easy and this went double for a blind Kender. But Blinkin was blessed with the unshakable good-humor that was a gift to his kind and he made due as best he could. He earned a meager survival from the donations passing Humans and Elves threw his way. He also sold the random small items that sometimes fell into his posession. One day, Blinkin had the great fortune to stumble, quite literally, upon Uncle Brim, a portly Kender who took Blinkin under his wing. It was Uncle Brim who taught Blinkin how to use a quarterstaff to tap his way along and make a life for himself. It was Uncle Brim, too, who told young Blinkin, "Never let anyone tell you you are different because you are a Kender!" Now this young Kender is on the move. Please, hug this little fellow. Do it because you love the Kender. Do it because you know it's the right thing to do. Do it because it puts all your most interesting things where he can reach them and discover... what is Tove anyway?
