As he neared the final cavern, he slowed. There was only a single candle
burning in the depths of the mountain, and no spell components had been laid
out for him. His master, an old and twisted theiwar dwarf, sat on a mat in
the center of the room. He looked up as Ghor entered.

"Where have you been boy? I've been waiting for you."

The ancient dwarf stared out at Ghor, his dark eyes piercing.

"Apologies, master, I couldn't find the ale."

The old dwarf sighed, and gestured to the cushion set opposite him on the
floor.

"Sit down, boy. We need to discuss your future."

Ghor sat, facing the old man apprehensively.

"The time has come that your powers have outstripped my teaching."

Ghor stirred, "Master, surely you are one of the most powerf-" "Powerful?"
The old dwarf cut him off, "Powerful? Boy I was so weak, they never let me
take the tests, must less pass them. No, it's time for you to head west. The
mages there will teach you much that you need to know."

The old dwarf sighed again, and gestured towards a pack that had been set by
the exit.

"Take that with you. There's a little money in there, and some food.
Remember boy: The gods of magic are your guides now. Don't fail them.
Nuitari especially is vengeful on those who flaunt him, as I once learned."

The dwarf raised his hand, and Ghor saw the scars that ran down the fingers
and crisscrossed the wrist. Blood oozed from them slowly. The old dwarf
swiftly re-wrapped the wounds.

"It's time for you to go, boy. Get the pack. The mages are waiting for
you."

And so, Ghor took a few meger posessions, and headed towards Wayreth forest,
and the Tower of Mages there.
