An Aesthetic shows you to a small reading room.

Stories of Ansalon from the view of Habbakuk.

A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap is at 65. You change? Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Eyes hurt? Turn Color OFF!! (regular story dates)

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a thread-bare book bound in cloth on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Habbakuk' scribed in unearthly yellow ink.

A bluebird sits on a tree branch, a sad look on its face.
Many people would say that a bluebird can not be sad,
but this was not a normal bluebird.
The bluebird looked down upon man helping man,
each putting on the armor they will wear for the upcomming
battle.

Slowly a tear falls from the beak of the bluebird.
He cries for his people, some will live some will die.
The bluebird tilts his head to the sky, soon rain begins to
fall. The sky turns grey, the color of his heart.

|-------------------------------------------------------------------------| Walking down the beach was an older human man in his late 50s. He wore dark blue robes hemmed in white and a beard of peppered white, both frosted in sea salt. Above him, seagulls careened and screamed as if he were feeding them. Ahead, a boy sat on a large piece of driftwood staring off into the sea, a graying mutt beside him. As the man approached, the seagulls backed off, wary of the boy and dog. The boy looked up when his dog barked at the man. "Doge!" he called to his dog as it took off after the man. To the boys surprise, as the dog approached the man, he bent down onto one knee, causing Doge to lick the man's face warmly. Doge was not typically kind to strangers, especially upon this barren stretch of beach. "S'ry bout that, sir, Doge ain usually friendly wi' strangers, " the boy said as he jogged up to the man. The man looked up at the boy, still ruffling the dog's head: "That is quite okay, lad. I've always had a way with dogs." The man stood up, still petting the dogs head. "You are lucky to have so loyal a companion." Turning his gaze out to the rolling waves, the man continued: "What are you looking for out there?" The boys shoulders hunched slightly, as his gaze, too, turned out to the ocean. "'m waiting for my pa to return. He's supposed to be back more'n a week ago but no one ain' seen signs of 'im or 'is ship." The boy kicked at a rock in the sand, causing it to skid down the beach. The man continued to stare out to sea for long moments, before finally turning back to the boy. The boy looked up into the man's eyes, which swirled like the ocean tides. "Do you think your father would want you to sit here, waiting?" the old man asked the boy. The boy shook his head sadly, still staring up into the mans eyes. The old man gave a knowing grunt and turned down the beach, in the direction he had already been headed. As he left, Doge trotted after him, licking the salt off his right hand. The boy watched, made meek by the inner realization that his father would not be returning. After a few meters, the man stopped and looked slightly over his shoulders. "Are you coming?" he asked, almost impatiently. The boys jaw dropped as he stammered out: "W.. Wh.. Where?" "Some place where we can both me more useful, " he said firmly and continued on his way as the boy jogged up and matched his pace, an inquisitive but determined look on his face. |-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
