Author: Kinian
Date: Mon Mar 10 18:35:54 2008
Subject History

My story begins many years ago as a little bundled infant, left on the
doorstep of a forest cottage, a bastard child. Of course, I had no
inclination of my half blood at the time, nor would I for several years. The
cottage was buried deep in the woods and belonged to the best parents I'd
ever know. Unbeknownst to me, but living with a caring mother and father was
surely better than being ridiculed as a half-breed.

I was brought up to live in the forest. My father taught me to hunt, trap,
and track. My mother taught me the use of herbs and simple incantations to
assist me. I wasn't magical, by any means, but she had a talisman that
helped greatly. It quickly became quite obvious that I had some elven blood
in me, as I aged much slower than I should have. In my teenage years, I
looked like a young child. In my early adult years, I looked like a young
teenager. The pattern repeated itself until I questioned my parents, and
they revealed that I was not their biological son. Surprisingly, it didn't
bother me that I was orphaned and taken in. I would have had it no other
way. Unfortunately, though, this news started me thinking about the outside
world. I'd always lived in this same forest, in this same cottage, in this
same room. My parents agreed with what I proposed to them. It was time for
me to go out and forge my own path. So, with my bow, dagger, and woodland
knowledge I set out.
