The Great Library of Palanthas

An Aesthetic shows you to a small reading room.

Stories of Ansalon from the view of Kryonara.

A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap is at 80. You change? Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Eyes hurt? Turn Color OFF!! (regular story dates)

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a bluish black leather-bound book on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Kryonara' scribed in light white ink.

Subject A New Beginning

After many years he was returning to
his city of birth, Solace. The many
years travelling with his parents,
although letting him learn about foreign
countries and cultures, had left a
large gap in the studies of his true
calling. He'd hated the endless weeks
cooped up in a city while his father
made deals and argued policy with his human
counter parts.

He remembered the early years as the son of a Noble, a low level
diplomat
not yet distinguished enough to deal with the Capitals, visiting
other
nobles he was always allowed to go where he pleased and when in castles
or
on estates spent a lot of time with the woodsmen and hunters that
patrolled
the estates and put fresh meat on the feast tables.

As his fathers
eminence as a diplomat grew he was more often posted to large
cities. In
contrast to the wonderful time he enjoyed when in the country
side human cities
where the bane of his existence. Thousands of people
packed closely together
never venturing out into the wilderness beyond.
Often the nearest piece of
natural land was days of travel through farm
land.

And so as his father
received news that once again he was to be posted to a
large city to over see
trade negotiations Kryonara decided it was time to
head of on his own and seek
his own destiny. He declared to his parents that
he was going home to Solace
where he would forge his own destiny.

And so he found himself in Solace his
home town and yet foreign to him. He
was determined to make it own his own
without the help of his father or the
family name and so stayed out of the
political arena but did sign up to help
the town watch.
