Subject Leadership, or lack thereof?

Looking upon the High
Clerist Tower, Maraxus felt a swell of pride as he returned from his excursion
in Solace, helping train young warriors
and giving them more insight into the
ways of the Solamnic Knights. Encouraging them to abide by a code of honor and
not to turn to the
treacherous behavior of those such as the ones that walk the
path of darkness amongst those of the Dragonarmies. The tower rose
shining
brilliantly in the last hours of sun that remained of the day. A young
knight rode out to meet Maraxus' caravan as they approached, riding up
alongside
of Maraxus the young knight gave him a cheerful smile.

"Lord Maraxus, it is
great to see you back. We have all been anticipating your return for many months
now. How were travels to Solace?"

"They went excellently, I was able to work
with many of Solace's young men and give them guidance. Many of them seemed to
be very prosperous
I hope that many of them aspire to join our
ranks..."

Riding through the gates, Maraxus looked about and noticed how
abandoned it looked inside, scanning back behind him he saw that the only
people
present at the wall were the two that were opening the gates. The
courtyard was completely lifeless as he dismounted his steed and gave the
knight
that had come to greet him a troubled look.

"Where is everyone, why
are there not more men posted atop the battlements? And how can there be no
training going on while there are still
hours of daylight to be
expended?"

"Our ranks have been growing slim under the lack of discipline
that currently seem to plague the knighthood. Morale has been on the
decline
recently as a result of it, new young squires are not getting fully
trained and many that were expected to arrive have not shown and I believe
it is
because of what is NOT getting done anymore. The squires that trained under you
have been vigilant in awaiting your return in hopes that
things would go back to
the way they were."

Frowning deeply, Maraxus felt frustration and anger about
the shambles that the knighthood had fallen to in his absence. Things would have
to be
turned around, those that never arrived would have to be contacted to once
again give them the encouragement to join the knighthood. Those that
were
already present would need to be trained more fervently than before and imbue
some enthusiasm back into them and prepare them for a battle
that may be
forthcoming in the future. The lack of leadership that has begun to shatter the
spirits of those that remained within these walls
is unacceptable, and should be
seen as such by any Lord Knight of any order that builds this knighthood.

"Walk with me to the Grand Mistress' Office and tell me more about what has
or has NOT been going on around here."
