The Great Library of Palanthas

An Aesthetic shows you to a small reading room.

Stories of Ansalon from the view of Marrock.

A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap is at 80. You change? Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Eyes hurt? Turn Color OFF!! (regular story dates)

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a bluish black leather-bound book on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Marrock' scribed in faded yellow ink.

Subject Staring at the sea

I sat on the cliffs again this
morning staring north out over what should
be mine but I knew I'd never be able
to claim it. It had been taken from our
family many generations ago and would
never be returned but like all the
first born I'd learned the linage that we
belonged to by wrote.

No one outside our family knew of our linage, very few
cared for the Knights
of Solamnia here in the dessert, where we had been forced
to make our home
after the cataclysm. In Tarsis the knights where hated and some
say hunted
for their roll in bring about the cataclysm.

I would never be a
Lord as I had no lands but by Habbakuk I would go and
serve as a Knight of
Solamnia like so many of my ancestors had and I knew I
would not let them
down.

Casting one last stone off the cliff into the sea below I turned my back
on
the sea that had swallowed my birthright and set off to tell my parents of
my
decision.

Subject Mugged while sparring

I'd set out from home
having spoken to my parents about it. My father
refused to give me his blessing
to join the Knighthood. He felt they had
failed us all and brought apon the
cataclysm that had stolen our home land
from us.

I made my way to Solace and
found a weapons master there who was willing to
help train me. We were working
in unarmed combat late last night when I lost
consciousness. I've just awoken
now with a terrible headache and noticed
someone has robbed me. Well both of us
to tell the truth. Seems Solace isn't
as safe as I thought it was.

As I frantically searched through my bags I realised the
potions of
Sanctuary I'd recently baught and the oil for my lanterns was among
the
things that had been taken.

I realised I'd definately need to find
somewhere safer to train and I needed
to improve my sense of awareness so that
no one could sneak up on me like
that again.
