The gully continues 'Eyes hurt? Turn Color OFF!! (regular story dates)

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a large book on the table in front of you.

The white moon broke slowly over the towering
spires of Silvanost. From
his posistion in the temple of Solinari, Merthos
watched it dispassionatly.
Another night in this lonely temple, trapped here
with the old, dottering
mages who hadn't posessed enough magical ability to
dispassionatly. Another
night in this lonely temple, trapped here with be
trusted with anything
other than teaching the novice mage classes.

"And as
we can see from the relative positions of the stars, the
great moon's rotation
is in fact influencing the tides of Krynn as well."

Merthos glanced down at
his starchart in annoyance. Already he had mapped
the positions of the White
and Red moons for the next two years. He sniffed
in distain as the other
students paid rapt attention to the old elf who
stood in front of them all,
laughing inwardly as they scribbled and crossed
out calculations.

As he
glanced up at the sky, he noticed something odd about the white
orb suspended
above the temple. There seemed to be a shadow at the edge of
the moon, that
blocked some of the light. It was slight but Merthos, who was
by now extremely
bored with the lesson, was able to tell that it must be the
shape of Nuitari,
the third moon, worshiped by the Black Robes.

Merthos pondered. Perhaps this
was the way to cast off these silly students,
with their moronic master.
Perhaps this moon offered him his freedom. Perhaps
it offered him power. He
did not look at the moon again that night, but he knew
it was there, and he
felt its gaze on him.
