Subject A Sense Of Foreboding

I frowned up at the night sky, my eyes automatically drawn to the
constellation of Takhisis. 'It's late... I guess time really does fly when
you're engaging in a pleasant conversation with Shao for once. ' I thought
drily. Remembering back to our chat I recalled what I'd told him about my
little brother. Should I pay Straze a visit?

What if he is still angry with me, though? That argument had been anything
but small, and it was I who said that I wasn't ever coming back... And now
I wonder, how did he feel when I said such harsh things to him? Surely it
couldn't have been a very nice feeling... Hell, if he'd said anything like
that to me I'd be devastated. Absolutely heartbroken. It was then that I
made my decision. As soon as things calmed down around here I'd go see him
in Sanction. I can only pray for forgiveness.

'Shao advised you to make haste in your apology, fool. ' A voice said in my
mind.

'Quiet. What the hell would you know anywhim? ' I replied, barely able to
repress the urge to shudder. The voice was my own, why was I talking to
myself?

'More than yourself, that much is for certain. Who is to say you won't die
tomorrow? And if not then, then the next day? Or the next? Face it, you
have no control over your Fate. '

I growled and clenched my fists. 'I said be quiet! I'm not going to die!
'

'Sure you aren't. '

'Shut up! '

A moment passed in blissful silence... The voice was gone. I felt the
tension slowly leave me as I took in a few deep breaths. Without another
thought, I turned on my heel and stalked back towards the camp. "All of
this has me even talking to myself, imagine that! " I said outloud, letting
out a short laugh. As I entered my tent however, the rest of the day
suddenly caught up with me and I wearily fell onto my cot, staring up at the
'ceiling' of the tent. A smile found its way onto my lips. 'Bah, what am I
worried about? We may have lost the battle, but the war itself is far from
over. ' I would have laughed, but I couldn't find the energy to.

And for some reason the eerie feeling from before just wouldn't go away...
