The Great Library of Palanthas

An Aesthetic shows you to a small reading room.

Stories of Ansalon from the view of Mykas.

A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap is at 65. You change? Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Eyes hurt? Turn Color OFF!! (regular story dates)

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a bluish black leather-bound book on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Mykas' scribed in deep black ink.

Subject sounds in the rain

the rain made a plinking noise as it bounced off the knights
helm, he knew it
would be this way for many days to come he watched as the two
young defenders
of the crown push the gates shut and barred them this was the
last one to
oversee someone else should really be here for this duty but he
felt the need
to oversee it personally since any reprecussions from the deed
would be his
responsibility the letters had been sent to the lords of all
major solamnic
cities to do the same and the call for brave knights had gone
forth he looked
at the sky and knew that rain was a blessing of the gods but he
was still
unsure of it's use in battle, mud had unseated many a knight from
his steed
not that it would trouble him he gazed over at his mount,
beautiful despite or
perhaps because of the rain the large silver gleamed shined in
even this
dismal weather mounting her back he flew to the solamnic keep
alighting attop
a battlement and moving twards his map room, the time for war was
upon us the
die for death.... perhaps even his own.....

Subject the best laid plans

The rain continued to fall perhaps it was a sign of the gods
disfavor, perhaps
it was just the way things were, but it disturbed him.

He wished things could move in a more orderly fashion and he felt
a sharp
sting of disapointment at the things that didn't move as they
should, the
weather recieved his ire because it was the most ever present
symbol of that.

he glanced down at the practice field and watched his Knights
preparing for
battle and began to wonder how many of them would meet thier end,
which ones
would survive and perhaps some day stand here where he was now.

He glanced at his aide and nodded deciding to accept that things
sometimes
are the way they are and if you want something different you draw
your sword
and get to work on it.... not that every sword was made of steel
but it seemed
every decision was a new battle, a new trouble for all to be
involved in, what
else can we do but hold true to our ideals and set forth to
accomplish our
goals.

as he again watched below he saw the aide give word to the
captain on the
ground who ordered the knights to mount up and prepare to move
out, The Lord
turned and mounted the dragon easily sliding onto its back and
into the
familiar saddle he knew he was preparing for what could be his
last battle,
what could be in fact the end of the order, there were not so
many knights
left these days, it seemed as if people valued things besides
honor and
justice, loyalty and obedience but if the knighthood was to die
it would end
on its feet rather than its knees
