The Great Library of Palanthas

An Aesthetic shows you to a small reading room.

Stories of Ansalon from the view of Omar.

A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Want color back? Turn Color Back ON!!

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a worn tome on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Omar' scribed in light grey ink.

Author: Omar

Subject Omar's History

As per yer request I'm tellin ye a bit about meself so ye know what my
intentions be. Me real name aint important. People on the sea call me
Omar. I aint captained a ship afore although I could. I aint the type to
tell me mates to go hither and thither and do what I says.

I aint got a family and I aint got many friends cause I aint from around
these parts. If ye ask which God I worship I'd tell ye I don't worship any
god to be true although I pray to the one they call Nuitari when I needs
help with me magic cause I'm told that be who has the answers in that
regard. I see the black moon in the sky just as clear as I see the others.

If ye try ta give me a robe it won't fit. I wear a grey one I took from a
dern braggart who tried ta keel haul me on me own skiff affer I was kindly
enough to rescue him from a shipwreck. Oh, scuse me for forgettin the
introductions but I'm an ogre. I'm about 10 feet tall and that's why I was
makin such a fuss over me robe. Anyway, if ye try to find me a black robe
it's gonna have ta be tailored fer me proportions.

I aint got any needs except the robe and I can get me own if ye don't make
habit o supplyin' em. I been around a lotta years and don't need treatin
like I'm a wet behind the ears initiate. I can find me own way to the
library and will work to earn me keep. I expect ta be treated with respect,
and if I am ye'll get it straight back. We'll not mention what happens when
I'm not treated like an equal. I been around a lotta years.

Anyhow, remember I'm a Sea Dog and don't do well with livin in quarters on
land, but I'm more'n willing to do what I have ta do ta get me magical
knowledge improved. Let me know if ye need anythin at all. Oh, and if
you're worried about puttin a giant up in yer quarters don't fret yerselves.
Although I'm sure the Conclave can take care o their own, I thought ye might
wanna know I aint never killed a man that aint tried to do me in first and I
always try ta tie em up or somethin the first few times. This one feller
kept comin after me after I let him go several times so I finally threw him
in the water to the sharks.

-Omar the Sea Dog, at yer service.
