The Great Library of Palanthas

An Aesthetic shows you to a small reading room.

Stories of Ansalon from the view of Renolt.

A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap is at 65. You change? Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Eyes hurt? Turn Color OFF!! (regular story dates)

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a small leaflet on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Renolt' scribed in faded brown ink.

Author: Renolt
Date: Mon Jun 11 20:23:02 2007
Subject Renolt: A new beginning.

"Renolt di' Garn, at your service Sir", the young man stated
without a pause, as
he had thought the moment through a few thousand times in his
head.

The guard at the gate paused, then gave retort "Garnet you say,
of which family
young man?" He looked down upon the paper as he took the young
man's name and
gave pause for a moment, for Garnet had been sacked, overrun
during the days of
the Dragonarmies reign not so long again. Many valiant men fell
in those days,
perhaps here was one to carry on a name of a friend..

"I am sorry Sir, I was very young when the nursemaid took me from
the city, all
I remember is the shiny medallion of the kingfisher, clutching a
small branch in
one claw, and ...' the young man gave pause and quietly breathed
'.. and those
dragon men'.

"Of my father, I have but this small coin, I do not even know if
it was his...
but I was told it to be" Renolt passed the coin with heavy
patina, rubbed to
shine by fingers so many years to the guard.

The man looked upon the coin with some small wonder, "A knight of
the Sword,
there weren't many of these coins minted son, your father must
have been a
commander.." The guard looked upon the coins with the words "Est
Solarus oth
Mithas" softly glowing as they had been rubbed clean many years
and stood
brightly against the darked patina of the coin... very much like
the one in his
own tunic... which of his brother in arms' sons stood here at
this gate this
evening?

"I too drew steel in Garnet lad, I will pass on your introduction
and bid you
take rest here." the guard said with some solemness.

With that, Renolt drew pause, glanced down at the coin back in
his palm and
wondered again what he could not, or dare not remember.

(OOC: Templar, Paladine follower, ready to serve. Renolt di'Garn
