The Great Library of Palanthas

An Aesthetic shows you to a small reading room.

Stories of Ansalon from the view of Shaddaric.

A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap is at 65. You change? Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Eyes hurt? Turn Color OFF!! (regular story dates)

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a bluish black leather-bound book on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Shaddaric' scribed in faded purple ink.

"Enough of this!" The young minotaur spat in disguest at the work
of
his hands. "Eevery day the same thing! I do what my father and
his father
did, yet I never come a step closer to knowing who I am. Oh,
perhaps they
were content to merely craft these tools of destruction and not
use
what thier hands had made. but they found contentment in fear
also!
Always a slave to the hypocritical whims of another being never
knowing
thier true self."

Shaddaric paused a moment to gather his senses. The subject was
such a
source of rage and frustration to the young minotaur.
The solamnics call themselves good and yet are hated by the
dragonarmies
Do the dragonarmies hate the solamnics for nothing? Does not
thier queen
have a right to exist and to be exert her will? So then the
solamnics are
evil in relation to the dragonarmies and in the eyes of the dark
queen
thier self proclaimed "goodness" is nullified.

Shaddaric thought more about the subject.

What about the dark queen and her armies? Do they live up to
thier own
teachings? The young minotaur thought about the nature of evil a
while.
evil is purely destructive. To preserve something, regardless of
its'
nature is a kind act. Evil is not capable of kindness. Even the
dark queen
works to preserve her self and her purpose so she is kind to
herself
and to her armies. Even if only as a means to an end.

Shaddaric could no longer contain his thoughts and spoke out loud
to
himself. "I will not find contentment in serving those who set
standards
only to violate them. I have heard rumors of individuals who are
exactly
that.. individuals"

"There are those amoung the races of krynn who do not bow down to
extreme
measures and thus expose thier error. They understand that the
freedom
from either extreme is the only path to peace. I am certain that
they
have both the ability to prosper and exist as themselves, as well
as hide
thier true nature from those who are governed by either extreme.
It would be of profit to me to seek the head of such a group of
these
individuals and plead my case with them."

With this Shaddaric finished his reasoning, closed up shop and
headed into
the night.
