The Great Library of Palanthas

An Aesthetic shows you to a small reading room.

Stories of Ansalon from the view of Solunu.

A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Want color back? Turn Color Back ON!!

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a large book on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Solunu' scribed in earth-colored green ink.

Subject A business opportunity!

Several volumes in the library at Mount Nevermind, but here is a
summary." "That ancient ancestor was of course a member of the Metallurgy
Guild. He wished to discover the composition of the moons that orbit Krynn.
It was his postulation that all three were made of different materials. He
sought to collect samples from each moon and so in order to do so, he built
a transportation vehicle that used natural pressure found in a geyser near
Mount Nevermind to propel himself upwards. He never quite reached his
target, but he had an exhilarating freefall into the ocean off the coast of
Sancrist." "My grandfather 17 times removed tried flying a single-man ship
that was tethered to great bladders of lighter-than-air gas. He got the
closest that any of us have ever reached, but the lack of air at that
altitude eventually killed him. He finally came down somewhere near
Kendermore. The inhabitants there thought it the most wondrous thing." "Then
there was my great (eight times) grandfather. He attempted to build a ladder
secured right to the side of Mount Nevermind! Can you imagine that? When it
finally broke under its own weight, it very nearly struck a Solamnic castle
several miles south of the mountain. His grandson tried something similar,
but using a scaffold instead. His results were similar." "Anyways, I have
broke with family tradition. I have a theory that I can determine the makeup
of the moons through a combination of direct observation and spectral
analysis. But such equipment is quite sensitive, and Mount Nevermind is...
well, not conducive to such work. So I have come here, to Palanthas. I hope
that I can raise enough funds to build my observatory east of the city, up
there on that so-called Dragon Mountain." "Wait! Master Dwarf! My good sir,
come back! Are you saying you don't want to participate in my venture?"
