Walker Chapter 1

It was a dangerous time in Ansalon, a
time of corruption and greed, and a fitting time for the power
hungry and ambitious.
It was in a small village outside of
Thorbardin that the first half-elf in the town's history was
born. The mother, having died during childbirth, handed her son
of to her parents, she named him Talwin.
At the age of two years,
young Talwin exhibited a innate grasp of the arcane, when having
been deprived of food by his neglective human parents, Talwin
managed to call a large jug of milk to his hand by the power of
his will.
Talwin's grandparents, having seen the signs of evil in
there son's birth, discarded him in the wilderness, where they
hoped he would die of starvation.
Talwin was found by a group of
Nerakan Clerics, and brought to there church. It was here that
Talwin spent four years being raised by the order of nerakan
clerics in the temple square.
Escaping captivity at the age of
six, Talwin left Neraka and ventured into the harsh wilderness of
the mountains, where he learned the most important trait for any
half-breed, how to survive.
It proved as Talwin grew older, that
the reasons for his foster parents discarding him, were
understandable, while magic is not evil, there were aspects of
Talwin's nature that gave off bad vibes to most who saw him.
At
the age of ten, Talwin found a hedge wizard with modest
experience with the arcane, the wizard were not particulary
gifted, but he was a member of the conclave and wore the reb
robes of neutrality.
Talwin studied under the old man for three
years until he discovered all he could from the inept human
wizard, Talwin journeyed to Palanthas to attend university, it
would be one of the few mistakes of the young mages life.
