Stories of Ansalon from the view of Xandralas.

A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Eyes hurt? Turn Color OFF!! (regular story dates)

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a gorgious hardback on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Xandralas' scribed in faded blue ink.

Day of Dream Dance, 17th the Month of Autumn Dark

On the one eve of the celebration one hundredth year on Krynn I have decided
to start a journal. In it I will place many stories and thoughts, and it
only seems fitting that the first of which should be a narrative of how I
came to be here today.

I was born to a typical Qualinesti family, ours lived in the village of
Shrivost. We belonged to the House Woodshaper, and as a child I showed much
skill in the Art that our family practiced. I was trained and qualified as
an apprentice to the House, but events would soon show me a different path.

This time was one of great turmoil in Qualinesti. Human marauders and
bandits pillaged the forest, destroying trees and villages wherever they
went. For every step of progress our House made in restoring the damage, we
were set back two steps by the ravaging hordes.

It was during one of these raids that I found my true calling. While deep in
the woods repairing damage, we were accosted by a group of bandits who
struck down a childhood friend. Though we were eventually successful in
driving them off, my friend was grievously injured. Scared for him, I knelt
down and prayed to E'li to heal my friend enough so that we might get him
home for proper care. To my shock and surprise, my prayers were answered and
my friend was sustained enough to travel back to our village.

The next day I petitioned House Cleric to accept me, so that I might further
learn the secrets of the Gods. Though uncommon, my petition was accepted and
I was given permission to travel to Palanthas on a quest to advance my
knowledge and bring it back to my people.

Sitting here on a hill overlooking Palanthas, I know I have made the right
decision.
