Author: Keldore
Date: Thu May 31

Subject Return to Sargonnas

A mutiny
on the high seas. Some of the crew seemed apprehensive, but
none
with the courage enough to say a word. Keldore stood onthe plank
and
looked over the ship Vanderkaum--the ship that he calledhome
for longer than
he cared to remember. It was a trade ship and
the money was always good,
but lately the crew grew restless and
he honestly should have seen it
coming. Normally he would not
argue when his crew made a decision.
Majority rules. Even life
on the see is governed by politics. If he were
to accept their
decision he could have stayed aboard as part of the crew,
but
knowing who the mastermind behind the mutiny, and knowing who
would
undoubtedly take his place made him argue his way to the
plank. The rat,
not even worth the time to mention his name,
would only lead his ship and
crew to their demise. Merely
concerned with wealth, he was sure to ruin the
good name and
relations that the Vanderkaum had made with the port cities
of
Krynn. One last look and he plunged into the water and
drifted to shore,
not really knowing where he was, but drifting,
now swimming towards the
shore in the distance. Granted his
drinking problem had probably helped to
quell any argument
against the mutiny and his anger that usually followed a
night of
heavy drinking. Alone and lost, his mind wandered to the path
that
lead him to the Vanderkaum, the trials he had been through
and the journey
he has endured with the Mariners for so long.

Keldore's thoughts drifted a time, almost forgotten, when he
donned the
armor of a Knight of Takhisis and a path that
eventually led to his untimely
death. With his dying breath at
the hands of a Knight of Solamnia he
dedicated his life to
Chemosh and was returned as an undead abomination to
find the one
who struck him down and cursed him to this life. His power
was
immense and he was one day approached by Kiri-Jolith. The
god could
sensestory + his unrest and could see that he was no
more suited to serve
Chemosh than Takhisis and offered him
another chance. While, being a
minotaur he could not be allowed
to join the Knights of Solamnia,
Kiri-Jolith promised to bring
him back as long as he swore his life service
to Kiri-Jolith.
This path lead him to Palanthas and into protecting the
safety of
its citizens and eventually its ports and trade.

He quickly
rose in the ranks of Mariner and became the captain of
the
Vanderkaum. But this path he was on now was fraught with
more pain and
suffering than he could ever imagine. It had been
ages since he even
thought about the Dagger, let alone seen it.
But now all his thoughts
revolved around the friends he lost to
its curse. Much blood was shed by
the holder of the dagger and
how it came into his hands is a story in
itself, but only because
of his dedication to Kiri-Jolith was he able to rid
himself of
the cursed dagger. But now, his vision was blinded with the
fury
of a red rage, a rage he hadn't felt in a long time, but
knew all to well.
He could feel the dagger beckoning his return,
begging for his vessel and
his new found lust for vengeance. He
would never have expected to be back
on this path again and would
never have thought he could betray his vows to
Kiri-Jolith. But
the desire to find his ship and the crew who betrayed him
would
undoubtedly lead him to the dagger.

So he began to follow the
call of the Dagger of Vengeance and his long
awaited return to
Sargonnas.
