It was an unusually warm day. The sun was
burning down through the
clouds. The knight shifted in his saddle as he galloped
across the plains.
He could feel the sweat trickling down his back underneath
the cumbersome
armor. He was a Solamnic Knight of the Sword, though, and was
used to it by
now.

He pushed his horse harder today than usual. He carried an
urgent message
from the Outpost back to the High Clerist. What he didn't know
was that his
message was about to become much more urgent.

The knight shifted
again in the saddle as his horse galloped towards a small
hill on the plains.
Peering out towards the hill ahead of them, he could see
nothing... hear
nothing. Weary of the unusual quiet all around him, he
turned and scanned in all
directions, but he still heard nothing. He
approached the small hill and begain
his short ascent to the top. Strong
winds blew across the plains as he neared
the crest.

All of the sudden his horse stopped, almost throwing the knight
from his
mount. It took all his skill and strength to hold the horse in place.
He
realized the horse was frightened about something... but what. He
quickly
dismounted and decided to march to the crest of the hill and see what
waited
on the other side. Just as he barely could see out across the other side,
it
lunged up from the other side and stared him in the face.

By now the
knight's mount had ran off. He felt the fear set in and couldn't
move. It was a
dragon. He found himself face to face with a large Blue. He
couldn't even begin
to wonder where it had come from or why it was there.
The dragonfear consumed
him, leaving him almost breathless. The knight
faltered and stumbled to his
knees as the dragon sucked in all the air it's
lungs would hold. Then it
happened. Blinding light flashed from it's mouth
as a fierce bolt of lightning
slammed into his chest.

The last thing he saw was the blinding white light
coming from the mouth of
the blue. He opened his eyes and found himself still
encompassed by the
light. He could see nothing and, strangely, feel nothing -
nothing but
relaxation. He ran his hands over his chest and face. Everything was
there.
He was not harmed. Then he heard the voice begin to speak.

Young
knight, do not be afraid. You haven't much time so please, hear me.

The
young knight asked, "W-who are you? Where is this place."

I haven't time to
explain much. I am Kiri-Jolith - son of Palidine, brother
to Habbakuk. I have
spared you so that you may carry a message back to High
Clerist and the good
people of Krynn. The ranks of evil begin to fill. Soon
they will be strong. You
will need a weapon to fight them and their dragons.
Shortly after the cataclysm,
the remaining DragonLances were shattered and
their pieces spread throughout
Krynn.

You must find them now before they are in the wrong hands. Go now,
young
Knight, and make haste.

The knight opened his eyes. The light was gone
and he was back in the
plains. Lying on his back staring up into the clouds, he
rolled his head
over to the side. Frightened, he jumped to his feet and almost
fell as he
stumbled backwards. Lying there next to him was the great blue. It
was dead.
At the bottom of the hill was his horse, uninjured and grazing.
Mounting up,
he stared for a moment at the lifeless dragon on the hill - proof
that this
was no dream.

Subject Minotaur Invasion From The Lost Lands of
Taladas!

On the long forgotten continent of Taladas, a race of minotaurs thrived in the labyrinthine depths of their island homeland. These minotaurs were not like the monstrous creatures of myth and legend; they were a proud and noble civilization, with a rich history and a powerful thirst for conquest. The Minotaurs of Taladas had long looked upon the nearby continent of Ansalon with envious eyes, and the cities of Palanthas, Solace, Xak Tsaroth, Tarsis, Sanction, Thorbardin, and Istar seemed ripe for the taking The minotaurs, led by their fierce and cunning king, Tharok Bloodhorn, believed that their race was destined for greatness. They saw the wealth and power of the human cities across the sea and coveted it for themselves. Tharok, a charismatic and ambitious leader, rallied his people with promises of glory and riches beyond their wildest dreams. He spoke of honor and destiny, of the minotaurs' rightful place as rulers of the world. The minotaurs' invasion plan was meticulous and well-executed. Tharok had spies infiltrate the cities of Ansalon, gathering information about their defenses and weaknesses. He forged alliances with dark and powerful forces, enlisting the aid of dark mages and warlords to bolster his army. The minotaurs amassed a formidable fleet of ships, crewed by skilled sailors and warriors eager for battle. When the time was right, Tharok gave the command to invade. The minotaurs sailed across the sea, their ships darkening the horizon like a storm cloud. They descended upon Palanthas first, their sheer numbers overwhelming the city's defenders. The minotaurs' strength and ferocity were unmatched, and they quickly conquered the city, leaving it in ruins. From Palanthas, the minotaurs moved on to Solace, Xak Tsaroth, Tarsis, Sanction, Thorbardin, and Istar, their advance unstoppable. The human cities fell one by one, their walls breached, their people enslaved or slain. The minotaurs showed no mercy, their wrath unleashed upon the cities that had once been symbols of power and civilization. As the minotaurs' conquest spread, tales of their brutality and ruthlessness struck fear into the hearts of all who heard them. The people of Ansalon, once proud and confident, now lived in constant fear of the minotaurs' next move. The world seemed to have fallen into darkness, as the minotaurs' reign of terror continued unabated. In the face of such overwhelming power, some brave souls dared to resist. Heroes and rebels from all races and walks of life banded together, forming a resistance against the minotaurs' tyranny. Their struggle was difficult and perilous, but they refused to surrender to the darkness that had engulfed their world. The battle between the minotaurs and the resistance raged on, shaping the fate of Ansalon. The outcome was uncertain, but one thing was clear: the minotaurs' invasion had awoken a spirit of defiance and courage in the people of Ansalon. Whether they would be able to reclaim their cities and drive the minotaurs back to Taladas remained to be seen, but they would fight with all their might, for the survival of their world depended on it. Fate? Fairytale? Only time will tell. (OOC Note) Planning to do multiple mobquests for all levels, 7 level ranges so everyone can participate and have some fun! We will be doing this on a Saturday night (potentially November 18th) and will keep going until all the levels have had their chance. This is also a chance to start some RP within the community. Will the Sols rally to bolster defenses for Palanthas? Will the DA work towards fortifying Sanction? Maybe the mercenaries and rogue brotherhood want to earn some coin? Holy Order might want to defend the temples from invading heathens, perhaps Marauder want's to take advantage of the chaos and pillage some previously out of reach targets? The possibilities are endless and begging to be written, there could be additional rewards outside of the quest prizes for well-written stories so let's light that board up!
