The Great Library of Palanthas

An Aesthetic shows you to a small reading room.

Stories of Ansalon from the view of Konnor.

A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap is at 65. You change? Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Eyes hurt? Turn Color OFF!! (regular story dates)

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a large book on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Konnor' scribed in dull maroon ink.

Brushing aside ages
of dust covering the cobblestones, I found the one I
was looking
for. Barely noticeable after so many decades was a stylized
rose
that was pressed into the stone so long ago. Pulling my
dagger, I wedged it
into the crack and pulled the story up,
revealing a hidden compartment.
Reaching down, I lifted out a
leather satchel that bulged with bound
parchment.

Several weeks
later I sat at a tavern in Stone Rose, reviewing the
sheets
spread before me. In my grandfather's neatly scrawled
handwritting was
documentation showing our family lineage,
tracing back to before the
Cataclysm. I silently gave thanks to
my father for hiding them in our
family's ancestral home years
ago. The chaos of the Age of Despair had seen
our castle reduced
to ruins many decades before I was born, but he knew
where to
place such a precious gift where I could one day find it.

Before
leaving Stone Rose, I visited the famous monument. My father
had
always wanted to make the pilgrimage there, so I left a
single rose at the
base in honor of his memory. Using the few
coins I had I was able to
purchase a berth on a ship bound for
Palanthas, working a shift on deck to
pay for my meals.

Knowing
that there was a contingient of Knights in the city, I have come
to
seek an audience with Lord Railen, to submit my petition to
become a
Solamnic Knight, and to retake the heritage of my
ancestors.

The harbor guard looked at me, exasperated. "All I
asked was what business
you had in the city. I didn't ask for
your life story."

Blushing slightly, I apologized as he waved me
through the gates and hurried
towards my destination.
