The Great Library of Palanthas

An Aesthetic shows you to a small reading room.

Stories of Ansalon from the view of Lidaiun.

A little gully dwarf runs by and says 'Wordwrap is at 65. You change? Off 65 80.'
The gully continues 'Eyes hurt? Turn Color OFF!! (regular story dates)

Astinus says 'Enter the main library here to view only the author list.'
Astinus gently places a manilla folder on the table in front of you.
You note the spine bears the word 'Lidaiun' scribed in deep orange ink.

Author: Lidaiun

Subject Starting Anew

A warship cuts
through the rippling surface, creating waves of its own.
Oars row
steadily to the drum beats, and heavy grunts can be heard
between
breaks. The canvas swells up from a strong gust,
propelling the body
forward; the Red Condor proudly pruning upon
it. Several horned figures,
grayed out by fog and distance, move
about the deck. At the prow, one
scrutinizes the coast, populated
with boulders and foliage. As the ship
glides by, another horned
figures stirs from the undergrowth.

"Guess my absence was
noted." the minotaur mutters. Once sails are no longer
visible,
she emerges from the shadows. She shakes off leaves, twigs,
and
large clumps of dirt clinging to her once-white fur. Weeks of
skirting the
search party has dyed the albino a dark greyish
brown. But the eyes remain
typically red. She shifts slightly and
an angle of light glances off,
emitting a flash of
brass.

Absentmindedly, Lidaiun touches the left horn where it's
broken at the tip.
Grimacing, she secures the leather straps of
her armor, and layers some
cloth to silence the chainmail around
her waist. Steel plates welded to her
forearms gleam dully as she
clears a path through the brush. Lidaiun comes
upon a crossroad;
a sign points north towards Lacynos. Below the sigh hangs
a
weathered parchment. It's on to its last nail, positioned at a
steep angle
with one corner up. She peers at it, the worn
lettering
reads
"M-E-R-C...A-R..Y...Adv..n..ure..For..ne...Tars..."

The
minotaur assumes the last part refers to Tarsis, a good several
months
travel from Mithas. Well, it's a start she shrugs. Keeping
to the dense
growth and shadows off the main road, Lidaiun
continues north. A few hours
elapse and the Gates of Lacynos loom
in the distance. Armed guards can be
seen patrolling the towers
and gates. First things first, getting past the
guards... Then
figuring how to acquire passage to Palanthas.
