Author: Agathon

Subject Return to the Sea

Agathon's nostrils flared as he breathed in the sea air. It had only been a few months since he had last seen the rolling waters of New Sea but it had felt like an eternity. Snorting, Agathon continued down the road towards Port o'call. He had been all over Solamnia and even Gaardlund looking for work, but had found none. Aside from being weak, Agathon now found the Solamnic people daft. Anyone could see that trouble was breweing to the east yet none were willing to accept his services. These pathetic humans would fall under Takhisis' yoke in no time. "Let them kill each other, " Agathon mumbled in minotaur as he passed by a merchant heading north. This upcoming war had proven itself decidedly unlucrative for Agathon. He would never sign on with the scum that served Takhisis and anyone who fought them felt Agathon's loyalty questionable. He had left Kothas to earn enough steel to rebuild his family's merchant business, as well as its honor, both now shattered by debt. A majority of his family's debt was owed to creditors loyal to the Dragon Armies. Cursing his half-witted brother, he continued into Port o'Call. If there was no money to be made by land he would find a way by sea. Agathon had known his way around ships since he could crawl and there was bound to be a few captains who could utilize his skills. Before too long he would command his own ship, then a few.. he could almost see his return to Kothas, a fleet of sleek hulled ships to his back and his grateful relatives fore.
